Healthy Eating Recipes
From Diet Fitness Wiki
If it is true that your body is your temple, then it would probably be a good idea that we watch out what we bring inside our temples. Food is our main source of energy, it is processed by the body and transformed in that invisible flow that keeps us moving, thinking and creating great things. We already use a lot of chemicals in our life and in some cases it could be difficult to get rid of them that easily, simply because there's no replacement. Learning how to cook healthy recipes should be one of the main priorities of today's housewives. Actually all people who enjoy cooking should strive to adjust their recipes in order to make them healthier. This is possible by replacing foods that are high in fat with their low-fat versions or even with other foods with similar taste but less harmful things for the body. Healthy recipes are easy to create, provided that you follow several basic principles: 1. Keep deep frying to a minimum, or give it up for good. Deep frying is not a healthy way of preparing foods, because it determines us eat too much fat. Moreover, if the same cooking oil is used more than once, it turns into a real poison bomb because heat changes its properties, generating an additional compound that's highly toxic for the liver.
2. Balance your meal recipes. Use lots of vegetables, vary them with the seasons, make lots of raw salads and keep the salad dressings low. Such dressings contain fats, so if eaten in big quantities they become harmful for the arteries, leading to heart diseases. The same principle applies when you cook dips. For instance, you can make a fat free spinach artichoke dip by using fat free yogurt instead of mayonnaise.
3. Eat small portions many times a day. When we are very hungry, we tend to overeat. This is happening because there is a delay between the moment we are full and the one when the brain receives this information that we had enough food to keep us going. This is why it's important to remember to stop eating before you feel you're full. Most of us have been educated to eat everything on our plates, but this is wrong and it has to stop. We have to change this habit. Parents use this argument that there are so many people starving that it's a shame to throw away food. This is false. Poor starving people won't be better fed if we eat everything. What we eat and what we throw away actually makes no difference for them. They are going to starve anyway, so don't try to fix that anymore by overeating.
